Tauranga has two water treatment plants – one on Oropi Road and one on Joyce Road.
The table below is information directly from the Tauranga City Council on where different suburbs get their water from. If yours isn’t listed, you can probably have a pretty good guess judging by which suburbs listed are close by to you.
|Bethlehem||Oropi Road Plant|
|Central City (Tauranga)|
|Mt Maunganui||Joyce Road Plant|
In the two water reports supplied on the Tauranga City Council website, samples were taken from two suburbs; the Oropi Road sample was taken from Fergusson Park in Matua and the Joyce Road sample was taken from Gordan Spratt Reserve in Papamoa.
Brewer Friendly Summary
We have done the hard work for you by doing the calculations and breaking these reports down into brewer-friendly summaries. All values are displayed as parts per million (ppm).

Brewing Water Spreadsheets
We have also put this information directly into the Bru’n Water spreadsheet. You can download the file and use it with the values already inputted, but for more info on the spreadsheet, check out their website. You can use the basics of this spreadsheet in Google Sheets, but for full functionality you will need to use Excel.
We use Bru’n water for all of our pH and water calculations. Below is a YouTube video covering basically everything you need to know to get started using it.
