Gladfield Hefeweizen

Gladfield’s Hefeweizen recipe, scaled down to a 6 gallon all-grain/grainfather recipe pack.

Hefeweizens are a south German style of wheat beer made with a high percentage of wheat in the grist. The high protein content of the wheat malt helps give it its cloudy appearance, but the key to getting the classic wheat beer appearance and flavour is choosing a yeast strain that produces the unique phenolic flavors of banana and cloves.

The following is based on 70% efficiency:
Original Gravity: 1.050
Color (EBC): 6.8
Alcohol by Volume: 4.7%
IBU: 11.7

The full recipe pack contains all of the malt and individually vacuum sealed hop additions for a fermentation volume of 23L (6 gallons). The expected final packaging volume is 19L (5 gallons).

Want to make this kit your own? Purchase just the grain bill and hop the beer as you please.

Please note, kit does not include yeast. We recommend either:
2x WB-06
2x M20
WLP300 with an appropriate sized starter
