Gladfield Oktoberfest

Gladfield’s Oktoberfest recipe, scaled down to a 6 gallon all-grain/grainfather recipe pack.

Originating in Germany, this style used to be seasonally available in the spring (Märzen meaning March). Oktoberfest beers are rich in malt with a balanced hop bitterness. As it is a lager it will require temperature control down between 11°-16°C to ferment cleanly.

The following is based on 70% efficiency:
Original Gravity: 1.057
Color (EBC): 18.2
Alcohol by Volume: 5.7%
IBU: 30.2

The full recipe pack contains all of the malt and individually vacuum sealed hop additions for a fermentation volume of 23L (6 gallons). The expected final packaging volume is 19L (5 gallons).

Want to make this kit your own? Purchase just the grain bill and hop the beer as you please.

Please note, kit does not include yeast. We recommend either:
2x W-34/70
2x S-189
WLP820 with an appropriate sized starter
