Antifoam is a silicone based emulsion which can be used to help prevent the over foaming of wort during the boil or fermentation.

Benefits of using antifoam:

  • prevent wort loss from boil overs and unhygienic over-foaming during fermentation
  • enables higher rates of evaporation during the boil
  • prevents loss of hop bittering substances
  • improves alpha-acid utilization

Our antifoam is best used between 2mL and 10mL per 20L of wort.
